Who is City Kitty?

 I have been house sitting for friends and neighbors since I was a child, happily filling the role of caring for beloved pets. I am sought out because I am responsible and have a gentle presence that can set both humans and animals at ease.    As the daughter of a veterinarian, my passion for felines was given freedom to flourish in a home brimming with animals. I grew up with canines, birds, rodents, fish, arachnids, crustaceans, and even a calf or two, but I was always most in sync with the cats.   I started this business because I experience so much anxiety prior to a trip away from my  own cats that I recognized the need to provide a stress-free alternative for others. Cats are habitual and territorial, so I try to disrupt their environment as little as possible so that you are sure to return to a happy and pampered cat.  I do not believe I can replace you or your routine, but I can provide a loving "staycation" for your kitty. 

I gained a volume of hands-on feline care experience working for years in the fast paced clinic of an all cat shelter. I am highly skilled at monitoring feline health, administering medications, subcutaneous fluids, and injections even with anxious and fearful kitties. Rescue work is what inspired my in home service, and I am also still actively involved in helping homeless cats. I am always collecting food donations and have begun collaborating with a pet food pantry to help support pet lovers in need to keep at risk cats and dogs in their homes so they don't end up in shelters. If you have food that your cat won't eat, I will gratefully take it off your hands!  I'm very passionate about spaying and neutering to help ease the overpopulation and needless suffering of homeless cats.

 
I'm so fortunate to have relationships with some of the most loving and skilled cat care givers in Chicago through my rescue work. I will likely ask you and your cats to meet one of my cat savvy vetted helper caregivers during busy times, or if your kitties need two visits per day. I only use caregivers who I've worked with directly and who I know to be reliable and devoted to your cat's well being. Everyone on my team communicates well with one another to ensure the best possible care for each individual cat. For each home we work in a team of 2-3 sitters to ensure coverage in emergencies and to keep things  as familiar as possible for both cats and clients. Learn more about City Kitty caregivers below!
